Staff Spotlight: Jonny Corris
Following the recent arrival of his daughter, Ellenie, we caught up with our Head of Marketing Performance and Affiliates, Jonny Corris to find out more about life as Blume’s longest-standing employee (after our CEO, Dez Derry of course 😉) and how becoming a father has impacted his life!
Tell us about your role at Blume
My current position is as Head of Marketing Performance & Affiliates, which is a dual role.
My day-to-day position focuses on building and maintaining relationships with our affiliates as well as running data, performance analysis, forecasting, and budget management for the marketing team.
These tasks fit alongside managing our long-term strategy, by focussing on tasks such as ensuring we reach our targets for leads, conversion rates and transfers, which means we can continue to deliver agreed volumes to our panel of law firms.
There’s a lot of spreadsheets, numbers, and formulas, so it’s a good job I love maths!
How did you get into your position?
Prior to working for Blume (then mmadigital!), I worked for eight years in-house at a law firm managing their marketing team.
It was then that I reached out to Blume’s CEO, Dez who brought me on board as a Paid Social Manager. Since joining, the business has grown substantially, and so has my position!
I’m proud to have earned promotions that saw me rise to Senior Marketing Manager, before stepping up again to my current position as Head of Marketing Performance & Affiliates.
What is your biggest achievement?
My biggest career achievement was when I was awarded employee of the year during my second year with Blume, it’s incredible to be involved with a company that continues to thrive and succeed, and recognises the impact of its employees as part of that growth.
On a more personal note, my wife and I have just welcomed our baby daughter after around seven years of attempted IVF treatment. It’s been a crazy journey of emotion, but the joy of welcoming her into the world after years of trying is incredible!
Where are we most likely to find you outside of work?
I am an avid Man Utd fan and season ticket holder, so I attend as many games as possible (home and away). When I’m not cheering on United, you can find me at one of the hundreds of underground metal gigs happening around Manchester, I’m a huge fan of the genre, so try to see as many as possible.
Most recently though, you’re likely to find me changing dirty nappies and trying to recover from a serious lack of sleep!
Is there anything else you feel we should know about you?
At almost five years of service, I’m the longest-serving Blume employee after our CEO Dez!
