Staff Spotlight: Lisa Stokes

Tell us about your role at Blume 

I’m a Customer Care Expert focusing on personal injury and medical negligence cases. 

How did you get into your position? 

My two most recent roles before working for Blume included working for Optical Express, then a position offering over the phone support to O2 customers, so when I saw a role at Blume that combined the medical knowledge I’d picked up at Optical Express with my love for speaking to customers over the phone I knew I had to apply! 

This is following a very varied career background where I’ve tried a bit of everything, including jobs in plumbing, construction, draughtsmanship, retail, watchmaking and even a brief stint as a saxophonist, which saw me appear in front of the nation on Top of the Pops playing with M-People! 

What is your biggest achievement? 

My biggest achievement is surviving cancer. 

Where are we most likely to find you outside of work? 

Outside of work, you’re likely to find me caring for my family, including my dog who is a dalmatian called Mickeyblue. 

I also continue to collect and repair watches for some quite established brands including Rolex and Zenith as a nice little side-hustle! 

Is there anything else you feel we should know about you? 

I’ve met a lot of exciting famous people when I worked as a personal shopper for Armani in Manchester and London. The biggest name was probably David Bowie, who I fitted for three suits. I also met David Beckham!
